BERLIN, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- New COVID-19 infections in Germany kept climbing and reached a new record with 7,334 cases within one day, bringing the total number to 348,557, the national disease control agency Robert Koch Institute (RKI) announced on Friday. The previous daily record of new infections was registered on Thursday, at 6,638, according to RKI data. Thursday's daily case figure marked a jump of some 1,500 on the previous day.
