Ajit's son reveals his father's struggles

Shehzad Khan, son of the renowned actor Ajit, recently shared insights into his father's career challenges in an interview. Ajit, celebrated as a prominent villain of the 1960s and 1970s, initially faced struggles, transitioning from supporting roles to prominence. Notably, his role in the film 'Naya Daur', alongside Dilip Kumar and Vyjayanthimala, earned him acclaim. Speaking with Siddharth Kannan, Shehzad recounted his father's difficult times post-'Naya Daur', enduring a lack of work for 4-5 years. Shehzad revealed that Ajit once showed him gutters near Mohammed Ali Road, reminiscing about sleeping in them upon arriving in Mumbai from Hyderabad. Following Ajit's passing in 1998, Shehzad's mother, Sara, battled cancer. However, the family faced additional hardships as his brothers refused to assist with expenses despite financial stability. Shehzad disclosed the strain of managing his mother's treatment, exacerbated by relatives and one brother claiming their father's assets, leaving him unable to afford medical care.
