Lake Resources NL (ASX:LKE) (OTCMKTS:LLKKF) is making significant progress with its sustainable, high-purity ‘clean' lithium strategy with Hazen Research Inc on track to produce samples of high purity battery quality lithium carbonate next week.*Background*

Lake's technology partner Lilac Solutions in California successfully processed brines from Lake's Kachi Lithium Brine Project in Argentina to produce lithium chloride.

Lilac uses an efficient, disruptive clean technology to produce sustainable high purity lithium, with a smaller environmental footprint, in demand by Tier1 electric vehicle and battery makers.

Hazen is converting the lithium chloride into battery-grade lithium carbonate using a range of conventional carbonate processes.*Optimised production process*

Hazen has now extended its scope of analysis and test work of the lithium chloride samples with different process combinations to optimise consistent production of larger samples of battery quality lithium carbonate.

Crystallisation is currently underway as part of the production of lithium carbonate and Lake now expects first samples of high purity lithium carbonate next week.

The result of these expanded studies will benefit the company by having an optimised production process.
