Reports: MLB owners approve plan to start season in July, propose revenue-sharing system

Baseball may be back as soon as July. On Monday, MLB's 30 team owners approved a plan that would see the league play a shortened season starting in July, the Associated Press reports. Under the plan, the league would play an 82-game season with matchups consisting of regional and divisional opponents only in an attempt to cut down on travel. The playoffs would also be expanded from 10 teams to 14 with two additional wildcard teams from each league. The All-Star Game is also expected to be scuttled.…
