Splash News - Friday, 21 April 2017
Caitlyn Jenner wants to clear the air regarding her Republican ties, particularly when it comes to President Donald Trump. Caitlyn has taken heat from her LGBTQ community for leaning right on the political spectrum, but according to People magazine she says "My loyalties lie with my community and not with the Republican Party and not with Donald Trump." She wants her transgender community to know that ultimately she's on their side first. But if you're like "wait wait wait, Caitlyn is so a Republican... She tells People magazine, "Here's the deal: yes, I have always had views that lean more towards the Republican Party when it comes to politics, as in less government, the Constitution, all that kind of stuff." Basically, you know how Trump has stated he's putting America First? Well Caitlyn is putting the LGBTQ first, and wants her platform to educate fellow republicans about the community's needs.
