Subscription services seem to be the next big thing in the social platform space. After Twitter, which launched its Twitter Blue not a long time ago, Facebook is next to embrace this approach. Meta Verified is a program announced by Mark Zuckerberg himself only a few hours ago, and just like in the case of Twitter, it provides users with a blue tick to show the world they’re paying members. But more important, Meta Verified also comes with a series of other benefits, including direct customer support and the option to verify the account with a government ID. And last but not least, Zuckerberg says all subscribers get extra impersonation protection against accounts claiming to be someone else, so in many ways, this new service makes perfect sense for celebrities and well-known figures across the world.
