Wildcats beat Warriors

Sports 10's dominic miranda took in the the other semifinal game in sectional 40....he joins us now to recap it.... thanks rick.... arguably the hottest team in the wabash valley right now is north knox.... the warriors have won five straight, but they'd have to take their play up another notch tonight if they were going to keep their winning streak going and season alive.

They welcomed defending sectional 40 champs and 12th ranked evansville mater dei to town and folks this one did not disappoint.

The warriors hosted the wildcats on a muddy field tonight in bicknell.

First quarter... north knox opened up the game with a 15 plus play...8 minute opening drive.

Capped off by this 20 yard touchdown run by rhett sharon.

Bicknell went absolutely bonkers.

Warriors up 6 nothing early.

That set the tone in this one tonight fellas.

They stop mater dei and have the ball back.

First play of the second quarter..

*sharroonn* he takes it 50 yards down the sideline and is finally brought down at the mater dei five yard line.

Warriors score a couple plays later and go up 12 nothing.... mater dei answered back with a score to make it 12 to 6.... and then the big one before half... mater dei's joey pierre takes it 82 yards for the housecall.

This completely flipped the momentum of the game.... they tacked on a field goal as well at the end of the half to make it 16-12 heading into the 3rd quarter.

Not so fast.

4th and one from the 3 yard line... rhett sharon....again!

He takes it in and gives north knox the lead 19 to 16.

Humongous play here.

Mater dei had a 4th and 8....and faked a punt to get the first down.

Back breaking.

They go on to score right here with the 10 yard touchdown and go up 23 to 19..

North knox had a chance to win it on a drive in the 4th quarter..... 4th and 1 from the mater dei 30.... but no sir.

They are stopped and that was that in an absolute classic tonight from bicknell.

Mater dei tacked on another score as they were running out the clock at the end.

It was was an extremely hard fought...well played football game tonight.

Mater dei gets the victory to end north knox's season by a final of 30 to 19.

Rhett sharon had 188 yards on the ground and 2 touchdowns for the warriors.

This was an insane football game and heartbreaking for north
