Newswatch 12's tyler ridgle explains what phoenix- talent school district is doing for it's students.

Tyler says: covid-19 has led many students across the country to virtual learning.

Now students at the phoenix talent school district -- like those at phoenix high school-- might be able to go back to in person learning.

Vo: a global pandemic coupled with a disastrous fire caused a number of challenges for students and families.

Much of the technology provided to students for at home schooling was destroyed.

But thanks to grants and local donations superintendent brent barry says the district has been able to once again provide internet and chrome books to students in need.

Sot: it's really vital for you to do your self screening at home.

We ask our staff to do that when they come in each day and we'll have to really train our families and our students on that as well.

Vo: people experiencing covid-19 symptoms will be asked to stay home.

Though 3 school districts have received a waiver to open fully with students -- the phoenix-talent district is taking a cautious approach.

So far 80 percent of families desire in person hybrid learning.

Tyler says: a final verdict on the survey has not been determined yet.
