Family are still mourning the loss of lafayette man joshua ungersma.

He worked as a pizza delivery man and was killed during a robbery attempt while out on the job last month.

News 18's micah upshaw shows us how loved ones are remembering him.

Nat: singer.

C: it's just a celebration, josh loved metal, we all loved heavy metal with josh so we just wanted to get together for just a gathering.

M: this is the first gathering since friends and family came together to lay joshua ungersma to rest last month.

C: we all went to the funeral and that was horr know, you see all these people that you haven't seen in so long and it's such an unfortunate circumstance to see them at a place like that.

Nat c: half the people there are people who played in bands and knew josh, and josh would always come to our shows so we immediately said, hey lets try and do something as best we can.

M: a number of bands took the digby's pub and patio stage to perform with ungersma in mind.

His aunt, kimberly sheets says she's not surprised by the large turn out.

K: he's touched a lot of people and he's very, very much missed.

We love him.

And this is wonderful.

M: although it's hard living life without him, she's holding on to moments like this, that show the impact he's left on others.

K: he loved people and that's the way he was.

This concert took place last night from eight to eleven.

Joshua worked at domino's pizza as a second job to support his family.

The community helped donate more than 42- thousand dollars to his family last month.
