Debbie they are only allowed to seat people outside for now - they will set up tables all along this area in a couple of hours right before the doors open.

The bar just reopened a few days ago after being shut down for months.

Since the pandemic began - the bar has been closed for 6 out of the 7 months.

With the lack of profit coming in, owner doug roberts says he wasn't sure if his business would survive.

It's such a relief we were open last night, you could hear the juke box and shaker and people having a good time you could hear the cash register that was a nice sound, the weather was excellent we have never been able to seat people outside before it's something new and we were all pretty excited about it.

People are required to wear their masks when they go inside to order drinks.

If the bar is busy employees will bring the drinks out to you.

Roberts says this was all possible with help from the city and the downtown chico business association as well as knife river construction company who donated these concrete barriers for them to use.

Roberts says he's still not sure how this will impact them when the weather starts to get cold.

They may have to shut down again but for now they are enjoying being able to welcome their customers back.
