Hundreds of local Trump supporters put on parade

Voters gathered in Greater Lafayette Saturday to show their support for President Trump.

Today, hundreds of president donald trump supporters from around the lafayette area met up for a parade.

Organizers told news 18 people started meeting up around 1 p-m near the southside walmart.

Supporters from today's event told us the parade is a chance to meet up with fellow voters and share their love for the president and for the country.

Organizer oscar alvarez said the drive would last around 2 hours.

He says people have misconceptions about trump supporters.

...they think we're all racist...we're not all racist.

We are conservative people who care about our rights - care about our constitution.

Alvarez also told news 18 a few protesters drove by todays event.

He said they're open to talking to anyone.
