Glass Fire rages on California mountain

This is the moment the devastating Glass Fire ravages a Californian mountaintop and sends smoke high into the air.The fast-growing blaze has burned over 48,000 acres in the Californian counties of Napa and Sonoma, forcing the evacuation of at least 68,000 people. On Wednesday morning, 30th September, the fire was still growing, but at a slower rate.

However, there are concerns that things could worsen amid expected high winds today. The footage was posted on Twitter by the CAL FIRE Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit with the message: “This is video of the #GlassFire just now in The Palisades (Napa County) adjacent to the Robert Louis Stevenson State Park.”In the footage, a brightly-glowing wildfire is seen illuminating the mountaintop as thick smoke rises high into the sky.Fire officials have asked Sonoma and Napa county residents to stay alert as a Red Flag Warning starts in the areas on Thursday afternoon.
