Artists in South Africa demand government to provide financial assistance

Artists in South Africa are demanding the government to provide the arts and entertainment with financial assistance during the country's coronavirus lockdown.

Vicky Sampson, a representative for Trade Union for Musicians of South Africa, is calling on President Cyril Ramaphosa to apply legislation that will benefit the music industry.

Malvern Du Bruyn, provincial secretary of Congress of South African Trade Unions, said the call by the artists and entertainment industry is a just call and the trade union federation is in full support of them.
