A super-fit dad who is battling motor neurone disease has smashed the recordfor the fastest time travelling along the Thames by pedalo – the latest in aseries of gruelling physical challenges he is taking on to help slow thedisease’s progression.
Alongside three friends, Alex Gibson, 42, completed the128-mile stretch from Lechlade-on-Thames, Gloucestershire, to Teddington Lock,west London, in just over two days – beating the previous record set by almost48 hours and raising £35,000 for his charity, Challenging MND.
