Pulwama terror attack: JeM chief Masood Azhar, 18 others in NIA chargesheet

NIA filed chargesheet in 2019 Pulwama terror attack case on Tuesday.

A team of officers reached NIA court in Jammu to file the chargesheet.

The IED attack on February 14, 2019 claimed lives of 40 CRPF personnel.

NIA has named JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar and his brother Abdul Rauf Asghar as primary accused in chargesheet.

Several other JeM commanders and seven arrested people have been named accused.

The over 5,000-page chargesheet has been completed after an extensive probe conducted by a team of DIG Sonia Narang and SP Rakesh Balwal.

Officials said chargesheet has evidence on Pakistan's role in the attack.

NIA probe has revealed that Pakistan used a local - Adil Ahmad Dar - in the attack.

Dar rammed an explosive-laden car into the CRPF convoy in Pulwama.

NIA chargesheet also has details of communications of key players in bombing.

Pulwama attack threatened to spark a full-blown conflict between India and Pakistan.

JeM claimed responsibility for the ghastly attack which prompted India to carry out airstrike on terror camp in Pakistan's Balakot.
