Syracuse focused on preparing to play amid increasing doubts about college football season

The Orange prepare for the 2020 season despite growing doubts it will happen.

Hear from head coach Dino Babers.

Good evening!

The fate of the division one college football season is in the balance and as the syracuse orange prepare for the 2020 season - the question is becoming increasingly more pressing...will they have a season to prepare for?

After sitting out of practice for the first couple of days of training camp to address certain coronavirus- related concerns - the orange hit the field this weekend for the first time.

After practicing for just a couple of days - reports indicated that commissioners of the power five football conferences - including syracuse's a-c-c called an emergency meeting yesterday to discuss canceling or postponing the season this fall.

That was followed today with reports that the big ten has voted to cancel its season and the pac-12 may be following suit as early as tomorrow.

So where does that leave the a-c-c?

Here's orange head coach dino babers earlier this afternoon - addressing the latest on where things stand.

Dino babers: status quo right now.

Our conference is saying it's ago and until they tell us it's n are going toget reade football and i don't think the attitude should be any different from my pay grade down, we are going to be ready to go.

If they say go we go, if they say no we don't.

I'm as confident as i was when i started, once again these conferences are all individual things, there is always a domino effect but there is also, you can have a conference that says, hey we are going to play no matter what and they play.

So once again until they tell us that we can't, we are going to act like we can and our job is to get ready and give everybody the opportunity to watch college football louisville coach scott satterfield reportedly said today that the a-c-c is planning on moving forward no matter what other conferences do - though that doesn't necessarily mean that's the case.

Syracuse was off today - they return to practice tomorrow and as of now - are scheduled to open the season on september 12 against north carolina.

The mets take on the washington nationals at home tonight - and
