Farmers in Kashmir to boost productivity with advanced agriculture machinery

Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing continuous development since the abrogation of Article 370.

The UT government has prioritised development to boost the agriculture sector.

The government has set up an engineering testing lab for agriculture machinery in Kashmir to provide quality machinery to growers and farmers.

The machineries include tractors, motors and water pumps to provide good results to farmers.

The testing lab is located in the main campus of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) of Kashmir.

Since the formation of the UT government, the administration is focusing on providing modern facilities to upgrade the agriculture sector in the Valley.

Assistant Professor of Test Lab Centre, Dr. Muzamil said, "Earlier, we didn't have facilities to repair defective imported machineries, if any or even farmers had no skill to repair them.

But here in the testing center, we assure it beforehand say for 10 years, that machine should work properly so farmers don't have tension regarding it.

Here in the testing center, we assure that farmers don't need to worry for its maintenance.

After a certain period, one has to take some precautionary measures to ensure that the machine works well at the field level.

So, in my opinion, there will be a gradual change in the production of the state level."
