WHO Chief Says Lack of Unity Is a Bigger Threat Than COVID-19 WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus gave a passionate speech at a COVID-19 briefing in Geneva on Thursday.

He also spoke about a lack of leadership just two days after President Trump began the formal process of withdrawing the U.S. from the World Health Organization (WHO).

Trump has repeatedly accused the WHO of withholding information and having an inappropriately close relationship with China.

Ghebreyesus continues to implore countries and governments to work together to stop the spread of the virus.

According to Johns Hopkins University, COVID-19 has killed over 550,000 people worldwide, and reported cases have passed the 12 million mark.
