Indian Railways set to transform 500 train coaches into COVID-19 isolation wards

Indian Railways are set to deploy 500 train coaches in Delhi and transform them into isolation wards to treat around 8,000 COVID-19 patients.

The makeshift facilities will have almost 3,500 beds in 170 coaches that have been provided by the rail service.

Delhi is one of the worst affected states with the city recording over 87,000 cases and over 2,700 deaths.
