It was a case of missing identity that went cold for more than 40 years.

17-year-old lisa roberts was reported as a runaway from her roseburg home in the summer of 1977.

Her sister... lynn monger.... said she got one phone call from lisa.?she said she would call me back again later, but i never heard from her?

Fast forward to 2020.

Investigators in everett washington finally identifed their?precious jane doe?

Her name?

Lisa roberts.?to find out what happened to her& i haven been able to sleep.

Detectives learned that she was hitchhiking and was picked up by 20 year old david roth.

He didn know who she was& but he strangled her with a bungee cord after she refused to have sex with him.

Then, he shot her to death.

He served 26 years&before getting parol in 2005.?he probably didn even know her for half an hour.

She didn have any identification on her?

Detective jim scharf picked up the case 12 years ago.

He said she was unidentifiable until recently&thanks to an advancement in dna technologies.

And monger says she finally at peace& now that she knows her sister is at rest.
