Hundreds join protest in Kathmandu against Nepal's coronavirus response

The youth-led protest that began earlier this week continued on Saturday (June 13th) with around 500 individuals gathering in the Nepalese capital to protest the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier, police arrested 10 people, including seven foreigners.

The Himalayan nation imposed a complete lockdown in March after reporting its second confirmed coronavirus case.

But the number of infections has since increased to 5,062, with 16 deaths, and the government has come under fire for not doing enough to contain the outbreak.
