Woman grazed by bullet in shootout between Fort Wayne officer, suspect on Creighton Ave.

Police say the woman refused treatment at the scene after she was grazed in the leg by a bullet.

Fort wayne police say a woman was grazed by a bullet during a shootout between a robbery suspect and an officer tonight.

It started just before 6 on the city's southside.

Police responded to an armed robbery on south harrison street.

Officers say they found the empty stolen vehicle near warsaw and taber.

A short time later the officer found the suspect on east creighton avenue.

That's when police say the suspect shot at the officer ... striking the patrol car.

The officer returned fire.

The suspect was soon captured by multiple officers.

Neither the officer nor the suspect were wounded ... but police say a woman was grazed in the leg and that she refused treatment.
