Far.

Although the coronavirus pandemic hurt many businesses in our area, one local business owner says after the state temporarily went on lockdown, it forced families to find other ways to keep busy.

It helped his business thrive.

((pkg)) "it's really been unbeliveable."

Midway marine owner jesse holcomb says amid the coronavirus pandemic, his boating sales have gone up by 22 percent... "for the last month or so all we've heard is...i'm tired of sitting at the we're ready to go the water we want a boat."

Midway marine not only sells boats but also services emergency boats for first respondrers, making it an essential business... because of this, it could stay open during the shut down .

Holcomb says people in the community took advantage of that.

"we just sold our last suntracker pontoon about an hour ago.

For the first time ever, we have never been sold out of suntracker pontoons."

Because of the high demand holcomb says he added new procedures to keep employees and customers safe.

"on the hour every hour we do wipe down everything in here from to pens to...everything."

Although the effects of coronavirus boosted holcomb's boat sales he says he's just happy to be able to help bring families closer during a hard time.

"no doubt about it, coronavirus is a serious issue so i don't like to say it helped it.

I just think people know that's their escape now."

(live) holcomb says he hopes to continue to sell more boats throughout boating season.
