Residents of Indonesia's Padang forced to sweep streets if caught without wearing mask

A number of residents in Padang were made to sweep the streets after being caught by officials not wearing face masks.

The footage, filmed on May 19, shows a police checkpoint stopping passing motorists to check if they are wearing face masks.

One of the officers said: "This regulation was agreed upon by the Padang city government as a form of deterrent effect for the naughty community who did not obey the rules of handling COVID-19."
