Take developing story stinger we have new developments tonight in the week long fight over mississippi's share of the federal cares act money.

The legislature will basically move forward as planned.

But lawmakers and the governor have found some common ground--including a desire to get relief to small businesses.

A week of back and forth is seemingly coming to an end.

"mississippians don't need to see their political leaders fighting in the middle of this crisis."

Governor tate reeves invited lt.

Governor hosemann and speaker philip gunn to his home wednesday where they found some common ground.

"the conclusion that we have reached is that the legislature will appropriate dollars in conjunction with the governor administrating those dollars."

So, what about that bill passed last friday where the legislature was asserting spending authority for the 1.25 billion in federal cares act dollars?

"at his request, we are going to hold the bill we currently have before the mississippi legislature.

I'm going to ask my senators to hold that bill for a few days as the governor said.

And the purpose of that is for us to reach an agreement on going forward on the plan.

While we may be holding that bill, we're not holding our work."

Reeves says he'll be closely involved in the process and for now---he thinks this is the best path forward---adding he's never cared who had control but rather the speed of getting the money out.

"what i say to the people back home is given where we find ourselves today, thursday, i have made a determination that the best way, at this time, to get money to the people who need it is to make the decision that i made yesterday to reach out to the lieutenant governor and the speaker and find a solution."

That's why local libraries are connecting with students to make sure they don't fall behind.

Loraine walker is a childrens librarian for starkville public library.

She says her department has created a virtual reading program.

" so many things are up in the air for the kids schools, just their regular things are not available and things are different.

I wanted to be a constant for them."

Walker says after each video, families can select literacy exercises, arts and crafts, and other activities based on the daily story.

" it's a fun thing that can keep them involved.

So every day when they do that they're involved with more than just watching something.

And they can interact with their library friends also."

Tori hopper with columbus-lowndes public library says their reading program follows a similar model, except they're using a website called "beanstack."

"they can just go ahead and do some activities that are educational depending on their age group.

Then we can log their reading minutes based on the badges that they earned.

And we'll be providing paper options for those who can't access the internet at home."

Hopper says participants can listen to stories and log the number of books they've read.

" it's an avenue for them to keep reading and to keep exposing themselves to educational opportunities that they already been doing inside the safety of their own homes and away from large groups of people.

We're just trying to continue that opportunity for them in a new and inventive way."

And hopefully students will learn effectively using the virtual program.

" i'll do anything for my kids.

It will interview set let's do this one on the interview set if you you're a fan of wine and california...then get your taste buds ready.

Scott and bobbie are talking wines from santa barbara in tonight's uncorked.

One note about tonight's episode; it was shot before social distancing rules went into effect..

Hello all wine lovers, we're back with bobbie and today we're featuring wines that were made in santa barbara are in the santa barbara area in california and let me tell you, they're all fabulous.

You're going to love them if you don't.

Well, i just i don't know.

So, bobby, we are starting out with a really nice chardonnay.

Santa barbara county.

Yes so we're going to start with presqu'ile.

They actually used to have a house in mississippi.

Really cool.

So we got some mississippi tied to this.

I love it.

Their house was destroyed during hurricane katrina.

You hate to hear that because hurricane katrina, it's still i mean, it's been what, how many years?

Just what 10-12 are trying to think i was 16 when it happened.

So i'm not really good at math.

But anyway, i mean, it's still impacting people.

So yeah, hate to hear that, but they're still making this wine.

Yes and it's very cold climate so they don't use a lot of new oak so it's not super buttery.

It goes really well with food.

It's a very light i really like it.

And this one here is my one of my favorites.

Love you bunches.

I've actually came in to get this wine because it's so good.

Yes nothing says love you bunches like carbonic sangiovese say so so time for idol that peter stolpman and jessica stolpman are growing out, and lompoc, california, and i love their wines.

I went to mission santa barbara and they had a zip line, and that's probably my favorite experience of the whole time.

I'm the only one how did it.

Okay, so if you go anywhere and they have this one, i highly recommend you you give this one because it's really really good.

Alright, so this next wine, we actually a guy that works at this vineyard was here in mississippi and putting on a wine tasting, we got to try some.

This is bien nacido pinot noir.

They also do solomon hills.

It's owned by the miller family.

We had a master sommelier will costello come for our dinner.

And i love the wine.

So just very classic very like we're at the forefront for santa barbara county.

And just for a fun fact tell us how many master sommlier's there are in the us.

There's about 270 and i believe 26 of those are women.

Okay, that is awesome.

That is really awesome and 270 that's not a lot.

It's not last but not least a syrah.

This is made by chad melville.

Melville winery is very family oriented.

I love going to their winery.

I actually got to step on some of the grapes.

This wine paris really well with a rib eye with a fillet.

All right, well, now we may go where to find out right?

All right till next time everyone.

Cheers.
