Mexico's President Says Cartels Handing Out Supplies 'Isn't Helpful'

Mexican narcos handed out boxes of supplies to poor communities, including cooking supplies, masks, and sanitizer.

According to Reuters the supplies are marked with the cartel logo.

President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said “criminal organizations” distributing these supplies “isn’t helpful." Yet the president has faced criticism for not doing enough to support residents in need.

Mexico reported more than 8,000 cases and nearly 700 deaths from the coronavirus.
