Governor tate reeves said the state is in danger which si why people need to take coronavirus more seriously he said the virus is going to be deadly before we can slow it down he reiterated that people need to take his executive order seriously the governor said he believes a statewide shelter-in-place for mississippi will slow the spread of covid-19.

Again the shelter-in-place will begin this friday, april 3, 2020 at 5:00 pm and be in effect until monday, april 20, 2020 at 8:00 am.

According to state health leaders, the county case numbers and deaths may change as they received new information tippah county is now up to 29 cases.

And right now state health leaders are investigating an outbreak of coronavirus cases at long term care facilities including some in our area.

State health leaders said there's been an outbreak in long term facilities in calhoun, chickasaw, oktibbeha, prentiss and union counties right now there's an investigation into the cases and that investigation includes identifying close contacts of infected individuals for possible exposure.
