3 starting off with the latest numbers of covid-19 cases in louisiana... the state has surpassed the 5,000 case mark... according to the louisiana department of health --_cases have been reported across the state, resulting in deaths...there are more than_ hospitalized with the virus which is now in_ of 64 parishesyesterday at this time there were just over fifty two hundred cases.... and 239 deaths... the numbers in acadiana continue to grow as well.

But one local man is using social media to push people to support local businesses through this crisis.

United way of acadiana president and c-e-o carlee alm- labar... says massive amounts of effort is underway right now to coordinate nonprofit and volunteer groups in the area to combat covid-19... plus some additional resources for those in need.

Covid-19 has had historical affects on gasoline prices across the nation.in louisiana, prices have fallen 11.3 cents per gallon since last week.

According to gas buddy, the demand for oil has slumped globally due to the pandemic.

The nation wide average is down 14.3 cents per gallon - standing at $2.22.

Experts say, with most americans set to stay home for the next 30 days, gas prices may continue to fall.

We had forcasted avergae prices to be $2.20-$2.50 per gallon in louisiana thid summer, and now with this situation, they can be even less.
