Care homes at risk of being priced out of protective equipment by ‘unethical’ suppliers

Care homes at risk of being priced out of protective equipment by ‘unethical’ suppliers Shaleeza Hasham who works at the Surrey-based care home group, CHD Living has criticised suppliers of personal protective equipment (PPE) for ‘unethically’ raising their prices, as demand for masks, gloves and sanitiser rise during the coronavirus crisis.

Ms Hasham said smaller social care companies could struggle to get hold of the approved protective equipment as prices reach ‘laughable’ levels.

Prime minister Boris Johnson promised on the March 25 that sufficient PPE would arrive with care workers by the end of last week, CHD Living say they are having to buy their own.
