>> monday monday is brought to you by anderson brother's bank.

>> america's small business community is in limbo as thea wait final approval on congress' stimulus package.

They have had to let their employees go as they worry how they will be able to open their doors once the nation emerges from this quarantine.

On this monday, we are joined by jordan from low country first, and thank you so much for being with us today.

And i know you have your hands full.

First and foremost, jordan, what are you hearing out on the street?

>> you know, as i'm sure -- these last couple of weeks, we're doing our best to tune in with our local business community and local farms, and it's not a lot of doom and gloom.

There are a lot of situations happening, and certainly, there's massive unemployment now in our business community.

But we're also trying to find the positives of this.

There are hopeful stories coming out of t and i've been surprised just today to get a lot of responses back from our farming community and finding that they're doing quite well and finding ways to a support one ooh while it's challenging times, i think we're learning from it, and i think we'll be very strong as we get through this.

We're trying to rally together and do the best that we can right now.

>> everyone right now is waiting for the stimulus package to be passed officially and has charleston been doing anything and has south carolina been doing anything to stimulate small business here, and are you hearing anything from landlords who are being less than understanding in the circumstances?

>> we have not heard any being less than understanding yet.

And it's wise of them to be very lenient and flexible.

You know, if they're going to lose a tenant, they're not going to gain another one for a while.

So work with ones that you have and help them survive.

And so far that has an a positive side.

And yeah, we're tuning in as best we can to all of the levels of government and watching when they're doing and we're definitely going to be share and go up dating once the stimulus package it's pass, and trying to break down into bite sized portions on what that means for our local bingeses and we'll be sharing that this evening and hopefully tomorrow morning.

That's looking promise, and we're learning from this, and our team is advocating that it will be stronger if there's a second stimulus package, and that looks like it will be possible.

>> do you think it's enough to help these small businesses?

And what do you expect once we all emerge from all of this?

>> we'll see, it's a big mystery right now.

I think it will be very supportive for our smallest of small businesses and i think it will be enough to get you through the next month or so, but i think there will be more.

And i don't think that we'll bounce back quickly.

We're definitely advocating with our municipalities, because even if our businesses are applying for the loans, it's going to take a significant amount of time.

>> what would you think as far as what we can all do to support our small business.

There has been a lot of talk about helping restaurants of course, but what do you think it would take to make these businesses whole during this time?

>> a lot of going out of your way to help them, whether it's generously tipping your small businesses or buying the gift cards that everyone is buying now, a lot of them are discounting them so they canio them at a higher rate.

And deliveries and what not, so just finding ways to do that.

We're using our buy local.com website to put all of that in place.

The last weeks, we have been allowing all of our businesses to put information on that.

Exist cards, and delivery and online shopping.

So hopefully thinks helpful tool.

>> speaking of which, real quick, do you have any resources for people to go to and on what's the website so people can get information on what they snead.

>> low country.org, and you can see a couple of sliders to share your information with us, or find out front the local business community.

And see the updates on the advocacy side as well.

>> thank
