A retired cable jointer went viral after planting beers, ciders and wines in his garden. Mark Schofield, 51, planted corona beer bottle tops, white and red wine bottles and even had a tree with Strongbow cider hanging from it.The retired Northern Power Grid cable jointer recently extended his garden so has been out weeding and growing vegetables when the idea to plant beverages took hold. He said: "I was out in my garden and I thought I can just have a laugh here.

I just thought 'I'm not going to put that I have been growing vegetables - I am going to say I have been growing beer."I said to my wife just come and film me and she said I'm stupid!"His wife Janet Schofield, 57, filmed the hilarious stunt on Saturday. Mr Schofield, from Middlestown, West Yorkshire, turned his garden shed into bar last year which they had parties in, so he raided this for bottle lids and alcohol for props to plant. It took him about 10 minutes to set up and he even used a plant pot as a hat."If you are a gardener," he said, "you need gardening clothes."Daughter May Schofield posted the video to Facebook and received more than 10,000 likes and 41,000 shares. He added: "We didn't make the video to actually do this.

We only meant it for the family to keep them all in good spirit."Mr Schofield said they are lucky in lockdown to live in the country as they can still get their exercise by going out and walking their eight-year-old working cocker spaniel Lucy.
