An opera singer in Paris is keeping his neighbours entertained during the countrywide lockdown by giving daily concerts from his balcony window.

Every evening hits can be heard and all coming with an important message to stay safe during the quarantine.

Operatic singer Stephane Senechal has taken to opening his windows and belting out classic songs for his neighbours in a Paris neighbourhood, many of whom are forced to stay inside amid confinement measures the government has put in place to fight the coronavirus outbreak.

He's has been doing this since the lockdown started on March 17 and was inspired to a way to entertain and encourage his neighbours, many of whom are elderly.

On Wednesday (March 25), Senechal belted out hits from the musical "West Side Story," dedicating it to health workers around the world, including in countries such as the United States and Britain, which are seeing a drastic rise in coronavirus cases.

France is now in its second week of lockdown.
