Derek Jeter Elected to Baseball Hall of Fame On Jan.

21, longtime New York Yankees captain Derek Jeter was chosen for the baseball Hall of Fame.

Jeter, who played all 20 of his seasons with the Yankees after being drafted in 1992, is a 14-time All Star.

He has a total of 3,465 career hits, has played in a record 158 playoff games and helped lead the Yankees to five World Series crowns.

Prior to the voting, Jeter said he experienced a lot of “anxiety,” as the Hall of Fame decision was “out of [his] control.” Derek Jeter, via ESPN As it turns out, Jeter was only one vote away from being a unanimous pick.

He is now the recipient of the second highest voting percentage ever, with 99.7 percent.

That’s just above Ken Griffey Jr.’s 99.3 percent and just below Mariano Rivera’s 100 percent.
