Here's a look at the 8 things you need to know.

The college student who reportedly vandalized the dahl family ymca branch in la crosse turned himself in to authorities.

According to la crosse police reports, 19- year-old peyton nett turned himself in over the weekend after friends alerted him to the video and photos released from the y-m-c-a break-in on october 11-th.

News 8's jordan fremstad has more on what nett told la crosse police officials.

Nett told police he had no memory of the incident.

He admitted to having four to five drinks at a friends home thursday afternoon ... then continued drinking downtown at a few bars.

Nett told authorities that he blacked out and has no memory of vandalizing the y-m-c-a building.

La crosse police officials say while the problem has been resolved...this is an example of why people need to control their drinking.

"that drinking did affect his decision making and ultimately he made a decision that could have an impact for years to come.

The bottom line is he was underage....he shouldn't have been drinking, but regardless if you are drinking you need to be doing it responsibly and be able to remain in control of what you are doing."

Sgt.

Walsh says the clear surveillance video of the incident was the deciding factor in resolving the issue.

He says without that video this could have taken a lot longer to solve.

Thanks jordan...nett is facing felony criminal damage to property ... and burglary charges.
