1000 arrests confirmed in Extinction Rebellion protests

The Metropolitan Police confirm that they have now made more than 1000 arrests, policing the Extinction Rebellion protests in central London and City Airport.

DAC Laurence Taylor makes reference to one specific activist who climbed on top of a British Airways plane.

Earlier police branded this man 'reckless and dangerous'.

This is the fourth day of Extinction Rebellion demonstrations, where today's action focused on London City Airport, where protesters attempted a “Hong Kong-style occupation of the terminal building” with hundreds blocking the main entrance.
