United Airlines Announced Frequent-Flyer Miles Will No Longer Expire

United Airlines announced frequent-flyer miles will no longer expire after 18 months of no activity.

Delta similarly has no expiration date on miles, though American Airlines' miles still expire after 18 months.

United faced criticism earlier this year when it revamped the MileagePlus program to no longer use award charts.

Business Insider reports that Under the new system, the prices of award flights became variable, rather than fixed.

Customer reactions were largely negative.

The company plans to roll out the new pricing on November 15.
