A wedding in Kabul on Saturday night (Aug 17) is followed by funerals on Sunday (Aug 18).

More than 60 people were killed in the suicide attack on a wedding hall in the Afghan capital according to the country's interior ministry, and more than 180 were injured.

Islamic State has claimed responsibility.

Both the bride and groom survived the blast which took place two days before Afghanistan celebrates its Independence Day.

I lost my brother, my friends who came to join my wedding party.

The celebration of Independence Day does not matter to me anymore." The attack came as the United States and the Taliban are trying to negotiate an agreement on the withdrawal of U.S. forces in exchange for a Taliban commitment on security and peace talks with Afghanistan's government.

Under the expected deal the Taliban would guarantee that Afghanistan would not be a safe haven for militants to plot new attacks.

On Sunday, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said the Taliban could not escape blame for Saturday's bloodshed as they quote "provide a platform for terrorists".
