Kabul Area Rocked by Series of Explosions, Multiple Deaths Reported

Multiple deaths were reported on July 25 after a series of explosions rocked Kabul and neighboring Khoghyani.

TOLOnews, citing Nusrat Rahimi, a spokesman at the Ministry of Interior Affairs, said a suicide bomber targeted a bus carrying employees of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum in the Afghan capital on Thursday morning.

On Facebook, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum’s acting minister Nargis Nehan said eight employees had been killed in the attack.

The Kabul bombing was followed by two more explosions, reports said.

In one of the other explosions, in Khoghyani district, south-east of Kabul, seven people died and four more were injured in a roadside bomb attack, according to the provincial governor’s spokesman.

In a tweet, Afghanistan’s Health Ministry spokesman Wahidullah Mayar said the death toll from the combined explosions had reached 10, including five women and a child.

He said more than 40 people were injured.

Bokhdi News reported that the Taliban claimed responsibility for one of the three attacks.
