Nadia Assiri was waiting for her sister to arrive at an airport in Saudi Arabia when an explosion threw her to the floor.

The airport had been hit in a missile attack by Yemen's Iran aligned Houthi group on Wednesday (June 12).

They struck again with new drone strikes Friday (June 14).

Seen as a tit for tat attack after the Saudi- led coalition carried out a series of air strikes on the Houthi- led Yemeni capital Sanaa.

(SOUNDBITE)(Arabic) WOMAN INJURED IN AIRPORT MISSILE ATTACK, NADIA ASSIRI, SAYING: "I was waiting for my sister's arrival from Riyadh, and while waiting I heard a big blast, and then the fire pushed me far away." The Houthis confirmed the two lots of strikes against Abha airport in the south of the country.

Saudi Arabia said it intercepted five drones that targeted the airport and another in the same region.

The Western-backed coalition said it had destroyed military assets on the outskirts of Sanaa.

It was unclear if there were any casualties following Friday's attack.

Wednesday's missile strike had wounded 26 people.

Coalition leaders Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates accuse Iran's Revolutionary Guards and Lebanon's Iran-backed Hezbollah of supporting the Houthis, a charge all three deny.

The Houthis have stepped up missile and drone attacks against Saudi cities as tensions have risen between Iran and Gulf Arab states allied with the U.S. Last month, the group carried out drone strikes on two Saudi oil pumping stations.

The Yemen conflict is widely seen in the region as a proxy war between Saudi Arabia and Iran as it increasingly spills over borders.
