(SOUNDBITE) (English) TENNIS PLAYER, DOMINIC THIEM, SAYING ABOUT GOING FROM 'HEAVEN' OF BEATING TO DJOKOVIC TO 'HELL' OF LOSING TO NADAL: "Yesterday was one of my biggest victories in my career for sure and that's a unique and brutal thing in our sport, in tennis that I won six amazing matches.

I beat yesterday one of the biggest legends of our game and not even 24 hours later I have to step on court against another amazing legend of our game.

Against the best clay court player of all time and that also shows how difficult it is nowadays to win a grand slam.

That's what I meant yesterday, I was feeling so happy with such a good win and today of course I lost, I failed to make my biggest dream in my tennis life come true so I don't feel as good as I did yesterday." STORY: French Open runner-up Dominic Thiem described his 24 hour journey of beating Novak Djokovic to losing to Rafael Nadal as going from 'heaven to hell'.

Thiem lost 6-3 5-7 6-1 6-1 to Nadal on Sunday (June 9), meaning the Spaniard won a record-breaking 12th French Open title.

The first set of the final had been one for the ages, the second ran it close, but after three hours and one minute all that mattered was that Nadal was once again in familiar pose, flat on his back on the clay, having clinched his 18th Grand Slam triumph in total.

In a post-match news conference the Austrian Thiem described Nadal as the greatest clay court player of all time and said he 'saw why' during their match as he punished a slight dip in form that other players might not have done.
