US Continues To Add Pressure On Venezuela Through Oil Industry

The U.S. Treasury Department tightened its pressure on Venezuela’s state-owned oil company.

It said exports of diluents by international shippers are subject to U.S. sanctions.

According to Reuters, this move is an attempt to pressure Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

The country normally relied on imports of diluents from the U.S. to make their oil exportable. But since the U.S. banned trade with Venezuela, they must look abroad for other suppliers.
