Reuters reports that while U.S. President Donald Trump declared a national emergency due to increasing tensions with Iran, he ignored objections from Congress on Friday related to the sale of billions of dollars worth of weapons to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan.

The Trump administration informed congressional committees that it will proceed with 22 highly controversial military sales.
