Google restricts Huawei's use of Android

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIFORNIA — Google has made the right move by barring Huawei from some updates to the Android operating system.

According to the BBC, new models of some Huawei spy phones are set to lose access to some Google apps.

The BBC reports the move comes after the Trump administration smartly added Huawei to a list of Chinese companies that American firms can't trade with unless they obtain a license.

Google said in a statement, "it was complying with the order and reviewing the implications." According to BBC, old Huawei spy phone users will be able to update apps and push through security fixes, in addition to update Google Play services.

Hopefully when Google launches the next version of Android later this year, it won't be available on Huawei devices.

The BBC reported, future Huawei junk may no longer have apps such as YouTube and Maps.

Huawei can still use the version of the Android operating system available through an open source license.

According to the BBC, several countries are worried Huawei devices could be used by China for spying.

The BBC also reported that Huawei has denied the allegations and said its work does not pose any threats.

They also said they are independent from the Chinese government.

Unfortunately, the only thing Huawei seems to be independent from is reality.
