ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION U.S. President Donald Trump called migrant caravans on their way to the U.S-Mexico border "an invasion" during a campaign rally in Panama City, Florida on Wednesday (May 8) night.

At the rally, Trump said he'd called a national emergency two months ago "to confront this crisis" and defended his use of the term invasion to describe migrant caravans en route to the U.S. southern border, saying "I was badly criticized for using the word invasion.

It's an invasion".

CBS News reported the rally was Trump's fourth for the year, and that prior to the appearance the president had visited Tyndall Air Force Base that is still damaged after Hurricane Michael in October 2018.
