Turkish Opposition Confident That It Won Election Fairly

Reuters reports Turkey’s main opposition party said Tuesday its candidate for Istanbul mayor would again win the position, after the election board ordered a re-do of the city election.

President Tayyip Erdogan supported the re-run after his ruling AK Party lost control of the country's largest city in the March 31 poll.

One opposition leader called the action a “civilian coup” and Germany called on Ankara to respect democracy.
