TurboTax Hid Its Free Tax-Filing Pages From Google Searches

Gizmodo reports TurboTax hid its free tax-filing program page from Google searches.

The IRS has long had an agreement with several tax-preparation companies that the companies will help the 70 percent of Americans earning the least amount of money file their taxes for free.

As long as the companies offer the free service, the IRS won’t put them out of business by offering a totally free alternative. This year, taxpayers who earned over $66,000 had to pay to use the companies’ software.
