Online shopping has made things so simple — you might sometimes forget brick-and-mortar stores even exist.????And it could be costing you — as some I-R-L shopping could save you a buck.????USA Today cites research from Adobe, which found that the good ol’ grocery store has better prices than if you buy online… ????With store prices seeing a 2.8 percent increase in the last five years, while online grocery costs have increased 3.4 percent.????Over-the-counter drugs also tend to be cheaper in-store — with store prices declining while online prices have increased, as more drugs have become non-prescription.????Toys are another area where stores have the edge over the online marketplace, with prices plunging over the past two years.????That said, the site says there are plenty of items where online shopping is probably the way to go…????Like computers, TVs, appliances, tools and furniture.????A recent credit.com study found that 88 percent of consumers say free shipping makes them more likely to shop online.????But just remember, if you have to spend just $6 more for free shipping — it’s not really free.????So if you’re buying extra stuff to get free shipping on your essentials…????You could be winning the savings battle item by item and still end up losing the war.
