Elizabeth Warren Is 1st 2020 Candidate To Call For Impeachment Over Report

Business Insider reports Senator Elizabeth Warren has become the first 2020 presidential candidate to call on the House to begin impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump.

Warren pointed out Friday that special counsel Robert Mueller's long-awaited report did not conclude whether Trump obstructed justice during the investigation and explicitly refers to Congress' authority to investigate the situation.

Mueller's Russia investigation report, released publicly in redacted form on Thursday, did not find sufficient evidence to accuse Trump of colluding with the Russian government to interfere in the 2016 election.

Warren said Friday, "The severity of this misconduct demands that elected officials in both parties set aside political considerations and do their constitutional duty.

That means the House should initiate impeachment proceedings against the President of the United States."
