White House Counsel Refused Trump's Order To Fire Mueller

According to Reuters, White House counsel Don McGahn refused to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

The report issued by the special counsel stated McGahn feared that decision would be seen as another "Saturday night massacre." The report added that President Donald Trump wanted to have Special Counsel Mueller removed as early as June 2017.

President Trump ordered McGahn to fire the special counsel on the grounds of conflict of interest, but McGahn refused to follow through.
