U.S. Mayors Say They Would Welcome Migrants After Trump's Threat

Reuters reports Democratic mayors in the U.S. said on Friday that their cities would welcome illegal immigrants, after President Donald Trump threatened to transport migrants to “sanctuary cities." The president said on Twitter that he is considering moving people who were detained at the U.S.-Mexico border to sanctuary cities, which is an informal designation for cities that refuse to assist federal immigration authorities in detaining undocumented people.
